With the Red Carpet this afternoon (Thursday, February 15) at 5:30 pm, the 74th Berlin International Film Festival officially opens, marking the eighteenth year of partnership between the Berlinale and the TOP-IX Consortium, as streaming partner.

From 15 to 25 February, from its temporary offices, on the seventh floor of the Berlinale Palast, TOP-IX will be broadcasting live (and subsequently made available on demand), on the Berlinale website, red carpets, photo calls, press conferences of the protagonists, as well as the opening and closing ceremonies of the festival.

The 69th edition of the Berlin International Film Festival kicks off thursday February the 7th and for the thirteenth year, TOP-IX is present as an official streaming provider.
From 7 to 17 February, Red Carpet, press conferences and the opening and closing ceremonies of the Festival can be watched on the Berlinale website and on its Facebook page.

It starts on Thursday 7 at 10.30 with the photo call and the Q&A to the International Jury. At 7.30 pm appointment with the Opening Gala of the Festival. The complete program of the events transmitted in streaming can be consulted at this link.

It’s the ninth year that TOP-IX is the Official Streaming Partner of Berlinale, between the historic consortium of TOP-IX.

This year too, our team – at home in the small office at the Berlinale Palast seventh floor – began to transmit live the Open Cerimony and all the press conferences and red carpet of the films in competition.

The stream flow is in HD quality multibitrate and within 12 days of the Festival, will be broadcast around 250 hours of live, with more than 1000GB of traffic transferred.

The Consortium Team will be in Berlin from February 6 to 16.

Red Carpet, Press Conference, Opening Ceremony, Closing of the Festival and the Talent Campus events might be followed via streaming on the website (berlinale.de).

The streaming service is provided in HD resolution and it will be available on different browsers as well as “mobile”devices.

TOP-IX Consortium in partnership with OKF Germany is hosting an informal event to share information and updates about their activities in the Open Data and Open Gov area.

In particular TOP-IX will present Apps4Italy, a contest for interesting apps, ideas, visualizations and datasets that are able to show the value of re-using public sector information, open to to all european citizens.

In particular TOP-IX will present the Development Program, a tool set up in 2006 to increase the use of broadband Internet and to foster innovation by providing support to early stage Internet ventures.

During The 62nd Berlin International Film Festival, TOP-IX (Torino Piemonte Internet Exchange), Berlinale Official Streaming Provider, brings to Berlin “Hommage an die Komputing Revolution”, an exhibition created by Marco Boglione and curated by Cecilia Botta and Massimo Temporelli for K-Way Gallery.
The exhibition traces the history of the computing revolution during the Seventies and the Eighties. The highlight of the collection is the first Apple computer, known as Apple-1, produced in 1976, considered the “Holy Graal” of modern personal computers, sold in November 2010 at Christie’s auction house, at price of 157.000 euro.

At the same venue, TOP-IX is hosting two informal networking events, to share information and updates about its activities:
wednesday february 15th (from 8 pm to 11 pm): event dedicated to projects and initiatives around Open Data and its applications, in partnership with Open Knowledge Foundation;
friday february 17th (from 8 pm to 11 pm): event about start up and the support of young ICT, given by Development Program of TOP-IX Consortium.
