– NO recurrent fees on new services until Dec 31st
– NO more recurrent fees on port upgrade until Dec 31st
– NRCs still apply
– from Jan 1st 2017 Service Fees approved by the General Assembly will be applied
 
Offers applies to all services directly provided by TOP-IX (Ports, VLANs, colocation in edge PoPs)
Example: for new 1G port you will be charged only 250 € of NRC while for a 1G to 10G upgrade you will be charged 1.000 € of NRC and continue paying 6.000 € till the end of 2016 (in 2017 accordingly to new Service Fees)

BBBell, a Turin-based company specializing in Wireless telecommunications and TOP-IX Consortium member since 2006, has won the WLL regional license (Wireless Local Loop license) for the exclusive use of assigned and licensed radio frequencies in Piedmont.

The license will allow BBBell to transfer owned radio infrastructure from free frequencies to dedicated frequencies, ensuring thus high-quality services with stable and without interferences wireless connections.

The investment plan, which will reach 5 million of euro in 3 years, will allow the company the enhancement of wireless technologies, the expansion of coverage in Piedmont and the laying of new radio spots.

The EURO-IX new website is now online! Usual place but a new look: a new layout that improve the usability and make it more intuitive the website navigation, which makes finding information much quicker and easier.

Enhanced in its contents, euro-ix.net is composed in six headings: on EURO-IX website is possible to find the description of the Association and all its activities, the video about what is an IXP and the list of all IXPs of the world and the members of EURO-IX. At the companies is dedicated a single page with their main informations and contacts.

A new section of the website is committed to “Networks“: a collection of the chief information and some configurations samples to connect to an IXP.

Big changes also for the “News & Events” section: it will always updates with the automatic news feeds from members, and will be an archive for all details and events of EURO-IX.

During the next weeks it’ll be making regular updates and it will see new and improved features coming along.

Look at the new website on www.euro-ix.net and the single page dedicated of TOP-IX.

The Nexa Center for Internet & Society at Politecnico di Torino organized a two-day intensive workshop entitled “NNTools 2015 – Multidisciplinary Workshop on Network-Measurement Methodologies and Tools Applied to Net Neutrality” in the context of EINS, the Network of Excellence in InterNet Science.

This workshop gathered people working in network measurements and people studying telecommunications policy to discuss issues related to network neutrality and network measurements, both from the point of view of network measurement tools and from the point of view of policy.

One of the main outcomes of the workshop, currently being refined in a working paper edited collaboratively, is the discussion of the disincentives cooperate that reduce the potential impact of network measurement tools.

Before and during the workshop, there was also a hacking session in which participants worked to improve TheTorProject/libight, a network measurement library developed in the context of the MORFEO project. This hacking session was kindly hosted by TOP-IX (TOrino Piemonte Internet eXchange) Consortium.
